DAMPAK PENERAPAN PENDEKATAN ETNO-STEM DALAM MENINGKATKAN BERPIKIR KREATIF SISWA BERDASARKAN STATUS SOSIAL EKONOMI

This research is motivated by the low level of students' creative thinking skills and the gap in abilities based on socio-economic background. This study aims to determine: (1) the effect of the Ethno-STEM approach on students' creative thinking skills, (2) differences in creative thinking skills based on students' socio-economic levels, and (3) the interaction between the Ethno-STEM approach and students' socio-economic levels on creative thinking skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and factorial design. The research subjects consisted of 60 eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Bumi Ratu Nuban who were divided into experimental and control classes. Data collection techniques used creative thinking skills tests, socio-economic questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using a two-way ANOVA test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the Ethno-STEM approach had a significant effect on creative thinking skills with a value of F = 109.635 and Sig. = 0.000. In addition, there is a difference in creative thinking ability based on students' socioeconomic level with a value of F = 48.501 and Sig. = 0.010, but there is no interaction between the Ethno-STEM approach and students' socioeconomic level on creative thinking ability with a value of F = 1.450 and Sig. = 0.244. Thus, the Ethno-STEM approach can be an effective learning alternative in improving creative thinking ability and is able to accommodate differences in socioeconomic backgrounds
