ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL PISA KONTEN SPACE AND SHAPE BERDASARKAN TEORI NEWMAN

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal PISA-like konten Space and Shape berdasarkan Teori Newman’s Error Analysis (NEA). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek lima orang siswa kelas IX dari salah satu SMP negeri di Kota Jambi yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes tertulis berbentuk soal PISA-like, pedoman wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan lembar observasi hasil pekerjaan siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengidentifikasi kesalahan siswa pada lima tahapan NEA, yaitu membaca, memahami, transformasi, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban akhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh siswa mengalami kesalahan pada beberapa tahap penyelesaian masalah, dengan persentase tertinggi pada kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir, keterampilan proses, dan pemahaman. Sementara itu, kesalahan membaca merupakan jenis kesalahan yang paling sedikit terjadi. Kesalahan tersebut umumnya disebabkan oleh kurangnya pemahaman terhadap konteks soal, ketidaktepatan dalam memilih rumus, serta kelemahan dalam mengomunikasikan hasil perhitungan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kemampuan literasi matematika siswa, khususnya dalam memahami dan menerapkan konsep geometri kontekstual, masih perlu ditingkatkan melalui pembelajaran yang menekankan pada pemahaman konseptual dan komunikasi matematis.
